The average size of adult H. pfefferi is about 100 mm in mantle length (ML). They have small tentacles above their eyes and Their body is almost totally clear revealing a dark mass that is the internal organs and barely visible, feather-like gills. There are two small finst at the opposite end of the body from the head.
