<span style="font-size: small;">Archeologists have unearthed a <b>cone shaped skull </b>looks like of alien from <b>1,000 years ago</b> in Mexico. The find was made near the Mexican village of Onavas.<br /><br />Cristina Garcia Moreno, who worked on the project with Arizona State University, explained that <b>13 of the 25 skulls found in the Hispanic cemetery had these deformed heads</b>.<br /><br />“We don’t know why this population specifically deformed their heads,” Moreno told ABC News.<br /><br />The burial ground consists of 25 individuals; 13 have intentional cranial deformation and five also have dental mutilation.<br /><br />The site, known as<b> El Cementerio</b>, was discovered in 1999, but the team just completed their analysis of the skeletal remains last month. They plan to continue their research during the next field season. Archaeologists also discovered artifacts on the site, like pendants, nose rings and jewelry.</span><br />

The deformation was achieved by binding a person’s head between two blocks of wood to apply pressure on the skull by wrapping the wood with bands.</span><br />

<span style="font-size: small;"><br />“<b>Cranial deformation</b> has been used by different societies in the world as a ritual practice, or for distinction of status within a group or to distinguish between social groups,” Moreno told ABC News. “The reason why these individuals at El Cementerio deformed their skulls is still unknown.”<br /><br />The team said that many of the bones unearthed were the remains of children, leading them to believe the practice of deforming skulls “may have been inlet and dangerous.”<br /><br />The Chinook of the U.S. Northwest and the Choctaw of the U.S. Southeast both were known for practicing skull deformation as well.<br /><br />Moreno told ABC that people deformed their heads in Mexico because they wanted to distinguish important people, or they wanted to distinguish people from one group from another.</span></div>

 startling nature of the case. Rather than attempting to plead his

 powers  included turning invisible, predicting the future, teleporting 
over large distances, turning base metals in to gold and the summoning 
of demons. He even claimed that he had journeyed into hell itself in 
order to obtain many of his abilities.</span> <span style="font-size: small;"><br />

Surprisingly, despite prosecutor Fray Juan de Zumarraga's notorious use 
of extreme punishments, Calderon received only an exile back to the

Two
 of the tiny creatures, trapped in fossilized tree resin, break the 
record for ancient amber-preserved arthropods, a group of critters that 
includes beetles, butterflies, spiders and shrimp. At 230 million years 
old, the mite fossils are about 100 million years older than previous 
findings  and suggest that mites basic body blueprint may be built to 
outwit, outplay and outlast.<br />

David Grimaldi of the 
American Museum of Natural History in New York City  says “Dinosaurs 
have come and gone, but mites have hardly changed,” says. “<i>Their body form is quite similar to what we see in gall mites today.”</i><br />
<br />
That
 similarity is somewhat surprising considering that the Earth was 
profoundly different 230 million years ago, when most plants were ferns,
 the Atlantic Ocean didn’t exist and pterosaurs cruised the skies. The 
Triassic-period mites, however, look just like their present-day 
relatives : They have segmented bodies, piercing mouthparts and legs 
bristling with “featherclaws,” Grimaldi and his colleagues report online
 August 27 in the Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences.<br />

Arthropods
 are the most diverse group of creatures on Earth, making up more than 
50 percent of all known species. They’re one of the key lineages of 
life, says Engel. “Anything we can do to better understand what led to 
their successes and failures can tell us how they shaped the planet in 
the past and how they’re shaping the planet today,” he says.<br />

The <b>world's oldest purse</b>
 have been found in Germany and its owner apparently had a sharp sense 
of Stone Age style.Excavators at a site near Leipzig (map) uncovered 
more than a hundred dog teeth arranged close together in a grave dated 
to between 2,500 and 2,200 B.C.According to the archaeologist Susanne 
Friederich, the teeth were likely a  decorations for the outer flap of a
 handbag.<br />
<br />
"Over the years the leather or fabric 
disappeared, and all that's left is the teeth. They're all pointing in 
the same direction, so it looks a lot like a modern handbag flap," said 
Friederich, of the Sachsen-Anhalt State Archaeology and Preservation 
Office. The dog’s teeth were found during excavations of the 250-acre 
(100-hectare) Profen (map) site, which is slated to become an open-pit 
coal mine in 2015.<br />

Even among such a rich haul, the 
purse is a something special, according to the Friederich, who managed 
the excavation project. "It's the first time we can show direct evidence
 of a bag like this."<br />
